Mark Lodge is a seasoned musician and producer with a rich history in the music industry. His expertise spans across various genres, from hip-hop and R&B to electronic music, and he’s adept at weaving live instruments into his compositions.
A graduate of the esteemed Guitar Institute of Technology in London, Mark refined his craft under the guidance of industry-leading guitarists. He has showcased his talents both as a session musician, recording for top producers, and as a live musician at iconic venues like Alexandra Palace, the 100 Club, and London Astoria. In 2009, Mark collaborated with J2K and Manga from Roll Deep, delivering live sessions at the iconic Maida Vale Studios for BBC platforms. That same year, he graced the stage at the Urban Music Awards alongside neo-soul legend Omar Lye Fook, performing the single they co- wrote.
In a pioneering move during 2007-2008, Mark’s independent album, “Royal Dubz,” was created entirely over the internet with musicians from around the world, showcasing a new approach to music collaboration during that time. Released in 2009, the album garnered positive attention and airplay. Between 2009 and 2012, Mark hosted a radio show, introducing listeners to new music in variety of genres from hip hop, r&b, reggae, drum n bass and interviewing artists such as Jeremih, Chase & Status, Giggs, Lee Scratch Perry and many more. This year, Mark has started several innovative projects. He founded Sample Outlaws, a company specialising in crafting sample packs for businesses, notably BandLab. His publishing and production venture, Wild and Reckless, emphasises music for media and collaborates with various record labels and artists. Since becoming a resident at the Studio, Mark has begun exploring the expansive realms of the metaverse, NFTs, and audio generation platforms.
