Bath Spa University Students
If you are a Bath Spa University student, there are a number of ways in which you can engage with The Studio and our Residents.
Placements and Internships
The Studio team and our Residents often have opportunities for students to work on initiatives over a set period of time. This is a great opportunity to share your skills but also to gain valuable experience on live projects which can support your longer term career goals. Here’s what our students have to say about their experiences at The Studio:
Gemma Wynton, Writer in Residence, 2020.
Sara Eribo, Communication and Events Intern, 2020.
You can see what University placement schemes are available via Bath Spa’s Careers and Employability page here.
Research Projects
There are also opportunities for student researchers within the Centre for Cultural and Creative Industries. You can read about Bethany Buckinghams’ research here.
Attend a talk
The Studio runs a number of public talks throughout the year that focus on themes around creative technology. Keep an eye on our events page to find out what’s coming up.
Sign up to our newsletter
Our monthly newsletter is full of news from The Studio and the local creative tech community. It’s a great way to keep in touch. You can sign up here.
Come and visit
If you’re interested in a career in creative technology then you are welcome to arrange a time to come and visit The Studio. Contact Abigail Branagan, The Studio Manager, for a chat and to find out more. Email a.branagan@bathspa.ac.uk.
EMERGE
If you are graduating or you are a recent graduate interested in exploring setting up your own creative practice then you might be interested in EMERGE – a studio residency programme for Bath Spa University graduates across art, design, performance, music and creative media. Find out more here.
Media Communications
The Studio partners with the BA (Hons) Media Communications degree at Bath Spa University, giving all of this course’s students the space, support and collaborative opportunities to extend their communications work into the local arts and technology sector.
