I’m James Bickerton, founder of Advance Scout. I design tools, services, and sprint environments that help teams move from ambiguity to validated progress—fast. My background spans service design, UX research, and leading innovation pods inside large organisations, where I’ve helped shape pilots, propositions, and AI-powered products under real commercial pressure.
My practice is evolving from consultancy to creative infrastructure. I’m building Heard, a tool that turns messy conversations and research into decision-ready outputs, and developing “3”, an AI layer that surfaces the three emails that truly matter and drafts the next action—designed with cognitively overloaded and ADHD users in mind. I’m interested in practical AI: systems that reduce noise, compress complexity, and amplify human judgement rather than replace it.
I’m known for high-energy facilitation and 4-day design sprints that take ideas from concept to user-tested prototype at speed. I care about momentum, clarity, and eliminating corporate theatre. At The Studio, I want to explore how creative technology can become invisible but powerful infrastructure—helping people think better together and ship work that genuinely moves the needle.
