Kate Pullinger wins the Inspirational Person award at the Creative Bath Awards!
Last week, we attended the Creative Bath Awards with the Studio team and Bath Spa University colleagues. It was great to see such a good turnout, and so many creatives being celebrated under one roof.
Our very own Kate Pullinger received the award for Inspirational Person! Kate is the academic lead at The Studio and has overseen its development from the start. Here’s a bit more about Kate:
At Bath Spa University, Kate is the Director of the university-wide strategy research centre, the Centre for Cultural and Creative Industries (CCCI). She was co-investigator on the South West Creative Technology Network, a the £6.5m project funded by Research England; is co-investigator on the Bristol + Bath Creative Research and Development Partnership, a £9m AHRC-funded creative industries cluster project; and co-investigator on My World, a £30m Strength in Places Research Project.
Kate has a cohort of Creative Writing and Digital Media PhD students at Bath Spa University. She is the co-editor of The Writing Platform, a website aimed at giving neutral advice about digital transformations in publishing, reading, and writing. And, a published author having written novels, short stories, and digital fiction, including multimedia interactive collaborative works!
Creative Bath said: “Kate is a pioneer in the creative sector with ambitious drive and clear aspirations for countless students. Also, an accomplished novelist, editor and strategic lead.” We are lucky to have such a visionary creative and mentor heading up The Studio!
We were also very pleased for our colleagues at Bath Spa University as they received the award for Creativity for Good. And, impressed with Bath Spa University student, Bo Neville, on the design and creation of the awards themselves. Congrats all round!
