I have worked as a narrative sound designer on AAA Games, feature films, VR and audio books for over fifteen years. I work with both samples and synths and enjoy a good field recording trip when I can fit them in. I am also a percussionist.
Working in Unity, Twine and Wwise, I have developed prototypes across video games and VR. I have also researched binaural soundscape design and interactive audio UX. I enjoy collaborative partnerships with artists, production companies and with academic researchers.
I enjoy teaching and have been a senior lecturer, participatory music maker, workshop leader and speaker at game industry events. My particular interest is in the role that sound plays in cognition and in how to build a career as an independent practitioner.
My current research is into biomechanics, motion capture and cueing of joint actions in rehabilitation practice. I am also interested in auditory attention and the situation of the auditory system within the temporal bones of the skull.
