Dr Emma Pauncefort is a learning science practitioner with a background in literary criticism and cultural history. Through the work of Dilectae and its headline initiative The Critical Literacy Project™ her vision is to empower learners and educators alike with connected and critical learning and teaching toolkits to thrive in C21st society. Her work centres round 4 key questions:

  • How do I know what I ‘know’?
  • How do I learn?
  • Why do I learn / why should I want to ‘know’?
  • What does it mean ‘to know’?

Projects to date include the development and delivery of The Digital Literacy Lab for Educators and Digital Teaching & Learning – The Deep Edit CPD projects for The Commonwealth of Learning, Vancouver, and The 3CL Foundation, Malta. She has co-created critical digital literacy discussion materials with the team at leading Toronto-based, EdTech platform Parlay Ideas, and is delighted to be working on an ‘immersive employability’ project with other Studio residents for Bath Spa University. Her activism in education includes contributing to policy initiatives and education summits, as well as writing with urgency about the need for critical learning and literacy.

‘By night’, she executive produces classical music recordings for CRD records, an independent, family-owned record label currently entering an exciting new chapter in its 60 year history.
