Kate develops cultural strategy, partnerships and leadership.
In collaborative teams, she advises cultural organisations, artists and independent creative practitioners, with a focus on international working, sustainability and social value. Recent clients include Art Fund, Arts Council England, Association of Independent Museums, B&NES Council, Bath Spa University, British Council, Department for Education, International Council of Museums, Southampton City of Culture, Stuart Semple Studios and University of Bristol.
She is a trustee of Watershed and of Bath Preservation Trust, and co-convenes What Next (West Chapter) – a growing movement of culture professionals meeting monthly to share ideas and resources, and take action. Kate is a co-recipient of funding from the Studio Innovation Fund to develop a Capitalism Escape Room.
Formerly a cultural diplomat, Kate worked for the British Council for 20 years, leading the arts programme, working worldwide and setting up the Cultural Protection Fund
She jointly owns Bath Backpackers – a community-based, independent hostel supporting environmentally-friendly travel in a grade 2* listed building.
