Immersive Creators Cluster Lunch with Kilter
Cluster lunches are back! Held mostly on the last Tuesday of every month, this is an informal opportunity to meet other residents and hear from local speakers working in your area. Join us to share ideas, chat about upcoming projects, and bring your packed lunch!
Our Immersive Creators cluster is for residents, researchers and creatives who are working on immersive projects and practices. This is a special extended Cluster Lunch with studio residents Kilter. First they will show their 25 minute mockumentary ‘Digital Scholar’ plus a short Q&A followed by a broader look at their work and an informal networking session.
Kilter has been working in University Public Engagement & Responsible Innovation since 2015. They collaborate with researchers to devise a creative space for public conversations about potentially impactful new technologies. Projects have ranged from Synthetic Biology to Quantum Technology and Digital Twins as Professional Assistants and Post-Life Memorials.
‘The Digital Scholar’ is a 25 minute mockumentary they made as part of a 12-month collaboration with Professor Richard Owen & a cyber security cohort at Universities of Bristol & Bath. The film explores the inevitable future use of photo-real avatars working as a stand-in for organic human teachers in higher education.
