Stomping Ground – The Place is looking to commission a short solo or duet created for children and tourable to primary schools, festivals and other public spaces. The selected artist(s) will receive a £20,000 commission, development support, up to two weeks of studio space in kind. Deadline: 3 September
Sónar+D – Sónar+D has teamed up with KNOWCASE and Fundación Cotec to launch a new open call. They’re inviting artists, collectives, designers, technologists, creative agencies, producers, cultural institutions, and multidisciplinary teams to submit proposals for digital installations. The proposals should tackle themes related to art, science, culture and society. The selected proposal will receive a maximum budget of €100,000. Deadline 7 September
BFI CREATIVE CHALLENGE FUND – For designing and running development programmes for UK creatives. £12k to £150k. Apply by September 9th.
Learning Through Making, a new fund from Freelands Foundation – Provides grants of up to £25,000 for visual art education projects that creatively engage audiences with the process of making and exploration of materials. Deadline: 11 September, midday
The British Academy – SHAPE Involve and Engage – The British Academy is inviting proposals for innovative public engagement activity for SHAPE Involve and Engage 2027-2028. We are searching for ambitious projects led by the brightest and best researchers and delivered in partnership with a GLAM organisation (gallery, library, archive or museum). This year, the scheme will also welcome collaborations with performing arts organisations. Funds of up to £8000 will be awarded to projects which actively engage the public with humanities and social sciences research using creative and forward-thinking approaches. Unlimited Partner Awards for Disabled Artists Totalling £280,000 Now Open

Applications are open for Unlimited’s Partner Awards. There are 11 awards. Together they total £280,000. They’re available to disabled artists across England, Scotland, and Wales. Each award is delivered through a partnership with an organisation based in the UK.
Ranging from £15,000 to £40,000, the awards support the creation of extraordinary new work. This spans theatre, performance, digital media, music, visual arts, and more. It covers everything from research and development through to presentation and touring.
Each award is jointly funded by Unlimited and a partner organisation. This means direct investment from the arts industry from the start. Partners co-fund the work. They provide showcasing platforms and champion the artists they commission alongside Unlimited. This gives artists the opportunity to realise ambitious ideas while building meaningful sector relationships.
From Harms to Harmonies – Exploratory Research Funding Application

We accept Exploratory Research Funding proposals that respond to our thematic calls. The focus of this funding is to progress academic research questions that have been co-created with partners who are well placed to understand the importance and impact of the questions and findings.
What is the funding for?
Brigstow’s Exploratory Research Funding is to develop and solidify growing ideas, partnerships and plans that have come out of the Connections stage of a theme. During this time the Brigstow and URI Operations teams will be on hand to support around potential funding schemes, our co-produced research toolkits, and to encourage thinking about how creative methods can be employed. We especially welcome applications from teams that might find it difficult to find early-stage funding because of the novelty of the ideas, methods or approaches. The period of research/making for this stage of the funding is expected to be a period of 8 months.

CoSTAR Spatial Audio in VP – CoSTAR Screen Lab invites companies, technologists, and creatives to explore innovative applications of spatial audio to enhance audience interaction with visual assets in virtual production.
CoSTAR Realtime Digital Production – CoSTAR Realtime Lab invites partners from the creative technologies, film, gaming animation or virtual production industries to collaborate on an ambitious research initiative aiming to deliver transformative end-to-end workflows for on-set filmmaking, in-engine game animation, and realtime streaming.

VIVERSE Creator Grants – Flexible funding for indie developers, small teams, studios and innovators interested in exploring immersive, web-based 3D experiences across gaming, interactive storytelling, marketing, or education (open).
AHRC responsive mode: catalyst awards – UKRI – Awards to support researchers without prior experience of leading a significant research project to accelerate their trajectory as independent researchers, to unlock their potential, build leadership and convenor experience (open – no end date).
AHRC responsive mode: Curiosity Award – UKRI – Flexible awards to fund fundamental research that leads to new research agendas, networking activity and idea generation, which enables the development of further research opportunities and new research agendas (open – no end date).
