Social Impact Evaluation Masterclass
Stacey Pottinger who is Director of Octopus Impact as well as The Studio’s Impact Manager, is running a 90-minute masterclass on measuring and evaluating social impact for community-focused and civil society organisations.
During this short and intensive session we will explore:
1. What evaluation is and some core principles
2. The Theory of Change (ToC) model and its application.
3. The Centre for Cultural Values Five-Step Evaluation Framework.
4. Alternative models and frameworks.
5. How we communicate our impact to stakeholders.
About Stacey Pottinger:
Stacey has over 22 years of experience, working across marketing, consultancy, bid writing & business development within commercial business before moving into the charitable and higher education sectors. She has worked from grassroots to Board room, from strategy and fundraising, to delivery.
Stacey is an expert in creative production, gentle facilitation and integrated, creative evaluation and impact strategy, design and framework development with many years of experience working in community development and engagement using arts, creativity and play to enable and empower people to identify, define and effect their own change on their own terms.
She specialises in working with Higher and Further Education clients as well as the Heritage and Cultural sectors.
Amongst others, she has worked with the National Trust, University of Bath Bath Spa University, Little Lost Robot, Cool Ventures, the Social Art Network & The Belonging Network.

The Skills Exchange System (SES) is a research project run by The Studio with the aim of advocating the importance of social exchange within the definition of growth being targeted by the UK government. It is also intend to create a culture within The Studio where offers and requests can be made easily and Residents benefit from increased opportunities for social exchange and personal growth.
Studio Accessibility Statement:
We seek to make all our events accessible.
– All areas of the event are wheelchair accessible. The event space is through 2 doors from the street, with no steps.
– There are accessible toilet facilities available on the same floor as the main event, through one door.
– We provide a separate quiet room for delegates to use throughout the event.
– Parking is available in a car park near to the venue. Charlotte Street Car Park is the closest.
– You are welcome to bring a personal assistant or service animal.
– There is currently no hearing loop at The Studio. All presentations will be delivered without PA. Please reach out to us if you have hearing or audio requirements.
– You will be able to inform us of any specific access needs in the booking form for the event.
