Workshop: Making Things Move with Circuits
Join artist and creative technologist, Joseph Wilk for this hands-on creative workshop playing with the materials of circuits.
Using processors, wires, resistors, lights, sensors, glue, paper, craft materials and programming code to build a system that responds to the world and acts upon it. The workshop explores the poetic use of circuits and making the materials visible than deep technical details. In the workshop we will look at:
- Artists working with circuits
- Arduinos and Micro-bits, how to make them do things.
- Types of sensors like heat, light, sound and movement
- Moving things with servos.
The goal is to explore the materials, probably break some things (which is expected and good!) and create your own small interactive piece of work, built of circuits and code. What you move and what you sense is open to your own creative ideas.
No prior knowledge or experience is required.
