Clare Frances is a Camera Operator, Director, Multi-Camera Director, Technical Director, Editor and Producer, covering Music, Performance, Drama, Factual and Sport for screens, streams and broadcast. She loves to bring the audience into the room, onto the stage and into the field of play.

With two BAFTA’s for ‘Best Live Event’ and over 25 years’ broadcast experience in the UK and Spain, Clare is an MSO with cross-over skills in camera, production, sound, lighting, radio, streaming and broadcast software and hardware.

Clare wants to promote inclusion and access to technology, and has always brought these skills back to the local and community level through workshops, mentoring, with a focus on making live coverage accessible for smaller venues and lesser known performers. Developing this skill set further, Clare had the privilege of being one of the team that delivered Lost Horizon, the world’s biggest VR and multi-platform Music Festival, reaching 4.2 million through Sansar, Beatport and Twitch and winning a Best Digital Event of the year award in 2020.

Clare is working with MyWorld and The Studio’s Creative Technologist, Naomi Smyth, to develop her knowledge of VR, MoCAP and 360 capture kits, running workshops and researching innovative uses of immersive technology.
