Dr Matt Baker is a senior lecturer in Human Biology at Bath Spa and was formerly a South West Creative Technology Network (SWCTN) Data Fellow. His work explores our unconscious, non-visual interaction with light and the way it influences our mood, and creativity. In particular, he is interested in the way time spent outdoors can influence the creative processes involved in writing, and how this changes with the seasons.
Since finishing his data fellowship, he has expanded the focus of his work to include the use of shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) to modulate health and how creative technology might help bring these benefits to those unable to access green spaces.
