2025 - 2029 Five Year Vision
In the summer of 2024, The Studio collaborated with Slowmentum, a local regenerative economy start-up, to explore its future direction.
The Studio at Bath Spa University is at a critical juncture. As a hub for creativity, innovation, and social impact, The Studio is continually evolving to meet the needs of both the University and the wider community. In today’s rapidly changing social, economic, and environmental landscape, we face an exciting opportunity to reimagine how The Studio can continue to thrive and make an impact in the future.
Recognising the importance of staying ahead of these shifts, Bath Spa University’s Vice-Chancellor encouraged The Studio team to envision a bold, forward-thinking future. In the summer of 2024, The Studio partnered with Slowmentum, a local pioneer in the regenerative economy, to collaboratively explore its long-term direction. Using Bill Sharpe’s ‘Three Horizons’ methodology, we engaged staff, students, and stakeholders in reflecting on The Studio’s current business model, while charting a path for its future that maximizes its relevance and impact.
In response to the report we’ve been designing new programmes and a new approach to residencies in The Studio, with the support of Gamu Matarira from Gen A Consultancy, our stakeholders in the community and Studio residents. More information on these will be available as we begin to roll out the new vision and we invite you to contact us if you are interested in being part of our growing community.
